Can anyone tell me the implications of such results? I am other wise healthy and physically active, though I am suffering from depression and post-traumatic stress and mother has thyroid issues. I haven't heard back from the doc yet so I've been marinating in my thoughts over what this could mean.
It is also suggested to repeat test 4 weeks after the original test, but you might ask for FT-3 with the other two.
Due to your mother having thyroid issues, keep having thyroid blood test done on a regular bases. Retesting should occur at 3- to 12-month intervals, until either serum TSH normalizes or the doctor and you are confident that the condition is stable.
Your depression and ...........stress can be treated with antidepressant medication.
All the above is really up to your doctor on how your situation is handled.
