heart palpitations

by peggy64, May 28, 2008 01:42PM
When I lay down my heart starts pounding really hard. Does anyone know what is causing this? I have an appt with an endo this coming Wed. Say my dr yesterday, he can't do anything for me. I hate to go the the ER cause they don't do anything for you, just run tests and say I don't see anything.

Thanks

Hey.. do you or have youbeen diagnosed with a Thyroid issue? Thyroid issues can give you a racing heart or thumps..PVC's. I got them when I was on too much meds. Lowered and now on Armour and palps are gone.

yes, I have been diagnosed with hypoT. Started on Armour 8 weeks ago. Maybe I am getting to much.

well...what is your current dose? Also, some people have the palps on the Armour due to too much T3. Are they bad or just every so often? When I was on Synthroid... the palps were bad. Then I went to the Armour and I got them alittle but not nothing horrible. Around my period, I get them. But all and all, they are gone.

Was on 120, but that sent me into hyper. down to 60 for 2 days. then back to  90. However, I had the palps even before being diagnosed and put on Armour, which makes me wonder about that as well.

I know I felt to bad to work yesterday and today.

Hmmm... well being hyper can give you palps. Also, PVC's (palps) can happen regardless of having thyroid issues. They are like hear hiccups! When I was pregnant with both kids...I had those horribly. Went to my Cardio Dr and said I had the heart of a teenager!! Go over to the Heart Rhythm forum and Connie will help you with any questions. I go there and have found my palps are harmless. Also, caffeine, laying on your left side, stress, eating too large of a meal, hot baths etc.. can all trigger these annoying things. I know my triggers and when I became aware, they are stopping!!

I hope I helped alittle.  MK:)
