help! arthritis?stiffness?coincidence?

Hi
Ever since stating Thyroxine, have had chronic stiff neck, now knees, painful to go up/down stairs etc.
Is this normal/ a side effect of Thyroxine or what??
I am 53, not 83!! Anyone else with similar?

Antibodies test result '37', apparently within normal range of 0-60, Rheumatoid test normal, so seems I am stuck with a stiff neck with no explanation, also intermittent knee/groin pain induced by exercise (I try to keep up my jogging, just makes things hurt now) .
Is this normal with Hypo? Will I ever feel normal again?

Blood tests annoyingly inconclusive! Antibodies and rheumatoid results not til next week.
TSH  0.2, which dr. says is normal, thinks I don't have Polymyalgia, despite the fact that I seem to have all the symptoms! Hope the results next week will throw more light on this. Watch this space. If you like!

Saw doc. today, thinks my stiff neck/painful joints are pointing towards Polymyalgia.
Blood tests on Monday for this, Hashimotos and TSH. Hope these will be conclusive, if not, referral to endo, which I am hoping to avoid, just want back to normal!

I know that I've been much more ache in my muscles & joints since my TT but apparently bad aching is both a sign of being hypo & hyper for me.  But this is a daily, dull ache that gets worse certain days.  I was actually considering asking my doctor about fibromyalgia.  It's also autoimmune and while I think it normally causes severe pain here & there I wonder if it might be a cause for my continuous aching.  Please let us know how you make out at the dr's.

Thanks for reply. Haven't yet been tested for autoimmune, seeing doc. next week about the whole scenario, just seems such a coincidence to me, was fine before (apart from normal hypo symptoms)

Yes, but I do not contribute it to thyroid or thyroid medication.

Are you have autoimmune thyroid. Autoimmune thyroid will makes us more susceptible to othere autoimmune health conditions such as arthritis.  You should have  your doctor check you for other health conditions, autoimmune if you are autoimmune, instead of second guessing. Then you will know fore sure.
