high calcium-phos ratio

My recent lab results came back with several things high or low, but, my dr. didn't seem too worried about any of them.  One is my calcium-phos ratio and everything I have read said that if your calcium is too high this should be checked and hyperparathyroidism or hyperthyroidism should be checked.  Do I need to get more done?

If you are experiencing most of the symptoms linked to hyperparathyroidism and you have these abnormal tests you do need to push on testing and see if a positve DX of hyperparathyroid is the culprit.

It easy treatable w/ surgery if a tumor is found and most patients bouce back quickly after surgery. Getting the actual DX is challenging though.

We find "thyroid" disease is sometimes hard to convince a doctor with - when labs are "normal" range.

Parathryoid disease is harder to get attention to. Not sure why, but it seems most doctors and even specialists are not convinced this could be an issue and the patient suffers for years, may have a stroke of luck finding a doctor to suggest it and move forward on proper treatment - surgery being #1.

PUSH for testing.

I don't have all my test results, he gave me a report.  I have been vomiting for a while and have been trying to find a cause for it.  My dr didn't seem concerned about any of my abnormal results.  In addition to the calcium-phos the below results were given to me as abnormal....
Magnesium - low
RDW - High
Alk Phosphatase - little low
ALT (SGPT) - little low
GGT - low
Protein - low
Hemoglobin A1C - high
Hemoglobin - Low

I have been to the site and I do have for the most part all of the symptoms listed, I just don't know if that accounts for the vomiting and some of the other stuff that has been going on.

Should I just get the rest of my test results and move on to a specialist?  I am just so tired of being sick and not getting answers.  Thanks for the help.

Not so much with hyperthyroidism - but if your levels of calcium and phosphorus are off you need futher testing on hyperparathyroidism.

Are your levels of vit d off too? Usually a complete test of

Vit D
serum calcium
ionized calcium
phosphorus

Have you looked over the parathyroid.com site to see if you are also symptomatic of this possible condition of hyperparathyroidism?
