high thyroglobulin level and weight gain

I had thyroid cancer several years ago, had 2 surg. and I-131 treatment. My Dr. keeps close watch on my TSH and T-free 4 levels, which were ok. also my thyroglobulin level. this time it was high so I have to have a scan,  I'm on a very good weight loss program, that I lost all my weight and was at goal, now I'm picking up weight even though I still follow my program very closely. I'm wondering if this thyroglobulin level have something to do with the weight and what can I do to get the weight back off, my scan isn't until next month

Your doctor should keep watch on TSH because they like to keep it suppressed below range to minimize possiblity of a return of thyca.  The doctor should also keep watch on not only Free T4 but Free T3 as well since it is the thyroid hormone that is used by all the cells of your body to produce the needed energy.  Low metabolism can be a symptoms of inadequate levels of Free T3 and Free T4.  You should make sure they always test for both Free T4 and Free T3 every time you go in for tests.

What thyroid med are you taking and what is the daily dosage?  Also, please post your TSH and FT4 results and reference ranges shown on the lab report.  Do you have any symptoms other than the weight gain?

Hypothyroid patients are frequently deficient in Vitamin D, B12 and ferritin.  You should make sure those are tested and then supplemented to optimize.  D should be at least 50, B12 in the upper end of its range, and ferritin should be at least 100.
