I have been taking selinium and I also dnt see any results.well one more thing...after my synthyroid dose was increased my mental fog and swelling decreased..maybe its the dose ......do let me know Peggy64 if pregenolone worked.......!!
When you find out what does work, let me know... I'm interested to find out! At this point, trying to keep up with a different language (romanian) has been how i figure out how low my brain function is day by day. If i can barely remember the word for 'thank you', i know it's a heck of a day. I have been taking selenium, but am finding that it's not really helping all that much.... then again, it's only been a month. Maybe I'm just not patient...
...what was i saying...?
:P
I read that pregenolone is supposed to help. I have ordered some and hope to get some mental funtion going on again.
I haven't found anything to be honest. I have to leave notes for myself everywhere and keep forgetting what I'm supposed to be saying mid-sentence, which makes me feel very embarrassed. But then I'm not on any thyroid treatment as my thyroid keeps leaning toward hypo and then revving up again! I'm hoping my brain function improves when I finally get appropriate thyroid medication.
hey I had confusion and anxiety but it has decreased some...after I started running...it makes me feel refreshing and I loose my facial swelling and also my confusion decreases.....try it for some time..and see if it works...good luck..
"how can I improve my brain function..." I'm still trying to figure that out!
What do yo do when you lose the pad and pen?
But it can bring on mild hyper symptoms for the first two hours after taking it.
I am finding the an amino acid L-Tyrosine has been wonderful clearing my head and function at my optimal levels.
Derrrr....what was the question? I'm sorry! My brain function has its ups and downs. For me selenium did not do much at all for my fog, memory loss etc. I use tricks to get my brain to work. I have a pad and pen in my car, my desk, and I use sticky notes to put on my front door to remind myself of things when I go to the shops. There aren't a million sticky notes there...hee hee. Just to remind myself, like, Go to Post Office and get 10 x 50 cent stamps.....It's those little things I forget easily. I can remember to pay a bill, but not that I ran out of tissues! I keep a calendar pinned to the toilet door so I can see every appointment, I can't rely just on my dairy on my desk.
Since my surgery my fog has lifted alot but not to a great extent.
I also find doing games a good way to kick my brain into behaving too. Fast action games seem to help me for a few hours.
I know others swear by selenium, but for others it really doesn't seem to work, including me.
Hope that helps!
