hurthle cell carcinoma recurrence

by mistee, Aug 31, 2009 07:17PM
47 yo female dx with hurthle cell carcinoma with break thru of capsule aug 07. partial removal of thyroid in july which resulted in dx. tt removal in aug 07 followed by rai nov 07. uptake scan in mar showed no active thyroid cells. recently have had severe vertigo, voice loss, discomfort in neck and muscle twitches in face. My pcp thinks they may be anxiety attacks, but I don't think so. Does any one know if these could be symptoms of recurrence of the hurthle cell carcinoma. I have not been able to find any list of symptoms at all. Since prognosis for recurrence is not good, I am very nervous, but am afraid to say anything to my family since they did not fair very well when we dealt with this before. I finally convinced my pcp to order a ct scan and should get those results in a few days.
