hyperthyroid and skin complexion!

my graves diseas has recurred - blah - so on 5mg twice a day of neomercazole. feels like hell in the morning with aches. and overheating of muscles with no exertion. and anyway so couple minor side effects including: skin weirdness!
i have an olive complexion. usually a light brownish orange all year round with moderate sun.. well get this.. it's a kind of crappy grey colour now.. whatthe??.. anyone else know of this? i know it's winter here but it has been sunny and fine. my circulation if anything has been overactive and i should at least be reddish!
is it the hyper, or the neomercazole?
my only concern is vanity at this stage; after feeling like general crap for so many years, i at least like to _look_ healthy..
okay summing up - i am a crappy grey colour instead of the usual olivey light brown
..thanks!

I have Graves' and when I was hyper the skin on my face was amazingly clear and people would always comment on my complexion. When I went hypo, my skin was dull and I had no color in my face.

brilliant thanks for all this
yes i am low on b12 for sure.. i am off b supplements as it is a thyroid aggravator.
now i feel bad for blaming it on the neomercazole.
yes i also got jaundice a couple years ago on the last thyroid bout, when i was overprescribed the stuff and went hypo, terribly hypo..
well take care and thanks for addressing my strange concerns! :)

Okay so i'm in the mid hours of the morning so i'm not on all cylinders lol. If grey skin it's not mentioned as a symptom of Graves' and arrhythmia is one of the most common symptoms of hyperthyroidism....ummm. I'm confusing you more than before aren't i? LOL.

I skim read at this time of night so i missed one obvious cause.  From the list, arrhythmia would seem the most likely. An arrhythmia is an irregular heartbeat tachycardia (too fast), bradycardia (too slow), premature contraction (too early,) or fibrillation (too irregular).

My sister and i were yellow (jaundiced) when we were severely deficient in B12.  Along with greyish hair, brown pigmentation, red spider veins, and white spots we were an unenviable colour palette. :)

Grey skin isn't mentioned as a side effect for neomercazole or a listed symptom of Graves'. This symptom may be due to lower levels of iron or B12 perhaps.

From HealthBlurbs "Causes of Pale Skin, Pallor, Paleness, Grey Skin"

"Some causes for greyness or paleness include:

apnea
shock
cancer
anemia
frostbite
arrhythmia
anaphylaxis
thalassemia
hypothermia
iron overload
hypoglycemia
lead poisoning
chronic infection
aortic dissection
motion sickness
G6PD deficiency
arterial embolism
alcohol poisoning
pulmonary edema
sickle cell anemia
alcohol withdrawal
pheochromocytoma
hemolytic uremic syndrome
malnutrition ~ vitamin B12 deficiency
morning sickness caused by pregnancy
drug side effect ~ coumadin, amphetamine"
