hypertyroidism - causes

I have elevated FREE T4 (148) and low TSH levels (.01) my symptoms consist of; occasional pounding heart, "heavyness" in my cheast, occasional shotness of breath, feeling of swollen glands - slight difficulty in swollowing, No other obvious symptoms of hyperthyroidism. I have had a long term problem with a crown that was not placed properly and my gum is always tender in that area. Can this be related? what else can be the cause of my abnormal test results and symptoms?

Hyperthyroidism contagious? let me say this, If your neighbors car has a cracked radiator, and by your car being in the driveway next door will your radiator crack too just by proximity?  No, same thing with Hyperthyroid radiator just broke.

Yes, your tests indicate you are hyperthyroid.  Now you and your Drs. need to determine the cause.
When I had a hot nodule, my biggest complaint was pain in my tooth, jaw and ear.  I don't think that dental work caused the thyroid condition.  I do believe that my enlarged thyroid put pressure on a nerve causing the pain.
It seems a strange coincidence about the crown though.  I was in physical therapy for a frozen shoulder.  I clenched my teeth so hard that I broke a tooth below a crown.  So the crown had to be replaced. I was diagnosed hyper shortly after that.  Hmmmm.
