II am on a low dose of armourArmour thyroid. When I ty to up it I get heart palp. I will go for weeks feeling good and then suddenly I get tremorEssential tremor Familial tremor Hand tremor Tremor in one arm, palp. in the throatCancer - throat or larynx Throat swab culture and tired. I think I need more medication but am afraid to up it. I take 1-1/2 pills each morning (47mg) My last test showed 9 which I think is low. Has anyone else had these problems? I never have gained weight, my temp. is always low.
Have you tried to split your dosage throughout the day. That is supposed to help with the heart palps, and then when you do get raised up, do so by titration. As opposed to just jumping up. That is supposed to be helpful as well.
I had a bad experience with armour and am now trying to begin afresh and that is what I have read and heard others here say that that is how it should be taken for best results and least side effects.
Also take you a good adrenal support complex, vit b and 3-6 gm of vit c, selenium, and zinc.
I am happy Peggy brought up the adrenal thing b/c if you had been hypo for a long time your adrenals could be causing you some grief
That could be exactly why you are having those palps. I had them when my adrenals were tired.
It was almost atarting over with my meds until my adrenals got strong again. - Then I raised my Armour with no troubles and know I feel actually pretty well.
My TSH is at a 0.04 at the moment with no heart palps or hyper symptoms. So the TSH is not really the gold seal when it comes to judging your symptoms.

Really the Free T3 is the best to look at.
