hypothyroid & Preggo

by kris123, Mar 07, 2007 12:00AM
Ok, Dr keeps saying my thyroid is fine but last month I gained 8pounds and I ate good.  I am 6months preggo and my TSH level last time they checked was 4.7.  That just seems to high.  Now at 6months I have gained 33pounds. I am really worried about my TSH level, he tested the free t4 t3 ect and said all was fine.  It the others were fine and the TSH level is still almost at 5.0 am I still ok?  Should I change doctores.  I am on 100mcg of levoxell (sp).

I believe that doctors like to keep TSH level between 1 and 2. It is not unusual to have the med. dose adjusted through out pregnancy, so be sure to have test done and see doctor on regular bases throughout and after pregnancy.  Isn't weight gain normal in pregnancy.

You might want to get a second opinion from another doctor.

Just my personal opinion and/or experience. Always discuss your health issue with your doctor , always adhere to your doctors advise and, you always have the right to a second opinion. Nothing is a 100% or a 100%, 100% of the time. However, we are not all alike!
