hypothyroid after pregnancy??

by Gali85, Jul 24, 2009 10:11AM
After having my son a year and a half ago I started noticing major hair loss. I thought it was post partum hormones. here I am a year and a half later an dit hasn't stopped. Before my pregnancy an endocrinologist diagnosed me as being "sub clinical hyperthyroid".... and said that it was so slight, I would just need to check up once in a while.

After the birth of my son, I had blood work done where my GP said I was very slightly hypothyroid and basically did nothing for me. Here I am with little energy, lethargic, and losing TONS of hair. What should I do???

i would go back to the doc and ask to have tsh, ft3, ft4, and thyroid antibody tests since you're having symptoms and have a history of borderline thyroid disease.  if you have high antibodies and high tsh, i would ask about getting treatment.
