hypothyroid swollen tongue & sinus issues

Anyone else here suffering from a swollen tongue? I have had hypothyroidism for around 4 years, and the swollen tongue thing is new this summer. I have tried taking allergy pills, etc, still nothing has really helped. I have the "scalloped tongue" appearance, when I stick out my tongue, it has teeth marks along the sides, looks like ruffles. Since my tongue is bigger these days, it makes talking difficult in certain occasions, I sound like i am slurring my speech. I have alot bitten my tongue more often, which results in the bite marks turning into canker sores. I feel like I have a chronic sinus infection/post nasal drip. I basically feel sick all the time. I have decent days and terrible days. I usually sleep as often as possible bc my body just cannot handle all of the issues it has.

I get the enlarged tongue when my thyroid med needs to be adjusted (which it does now)... If you have current lab results you can post, so we can better assess your testing and treatment, that would be good.  Be sure to include reference ranges with any labs, since ranges vary from lab to lab and have to come from your own report.

I don't think of my tongue as swollen rather as enlarged. It is still enlarged but it used to be very enlarged and went past both teeth and hit my cheeks. In my case my tongue was enlarged by vitamin B12 malabsorption and hypothyroidism.  I'm covered from head to food in myxedema which is very stubborn stuff to get rid of so I've discovered so this explains why my tongue is still enlarged.

"Swelling is a major symptom of hypothyroidism and is also referred to as "myxedema." Typically, swelling caused by hypothyroidism does not look watery and after you push the affected part of skin with your finger and release the tension you are creating, the skin usually bounces back. You feel stiffness in your hands or face when you wake up in the morning. Severe swelling of the face may cause swollen eyelids, thickened lips and an enlarged tongue. Mucous membranes can also become swollen and if your larynx becomes swollen your voice will become hoarse." Excerpt from ITO Hospital - Hashimoto's disease
