hypothyroid

by mel44, Apr 18, 2009 05:08AM
My t3 and t4 levels were good and tsh was .04. My docter lowered synthyroid to 125 mcg and added 12.5 cytomel 2 times a day. I am wondering if that is too much cytomel? My docter said as long as the other level were fine and I felt ok .  But I seemed hungery and my hair was thinning. Help

That is a pretty standard dosage to start. Are you taking it twice a day? It is short lived so you may be in a rise and fall during the day

I take synthroid 125 mcg every morning and 12.5 mg cytomel  then again at 2:00 I take 12.5 mcg cytomel. I have been hypo for 15 years. Now that I am in perimenopause it seems to be out of control. I feel a little more energized now but my hair texture feels finer and maybe thinner.
