hypothyroidism

My Dr lowered my Thyroid med and i was wondering if that mean't my thyroid was getting more toward normal  I have lost weight and am eating better and getting lots more exercise   was only 20 lbs. over weight.

but weight loss will decrease your need for thyroid med.

It really depends, if you are hashimoto and your thyroid hasn't completely died then it's possible for your thyroid to sputter into function on its own and provide you with thyroid hormone in addition to the meds "which will create a situation of too much" and require a reduction of meds... but then later it will stop producing as much thyroid hormone and you will need an increase again, It really just depends on your situation and the reason for your hypothyroid, how long you've had it, antibodies etc... Your weight and exercise and eating better doesn't really increase or decrease the function of your thyroid.. I'm only 10lbs overweight, i eat right and excercise and my thyroid levels are way off the chart..
