hypothyroidism

by chinchin, Dec 21, 2007 10:49PM
I have had the right side of my thyroid removed. I would like to know if anyone in my situation, is taking cytomel as a supplement with other thyroid meds, or just taking cytomel along. I am currently taking armour 15mg.

Cytomel is T3 only.  Armour has T1 T2 T3 and T4.  There should be no reason for you to have to take cytomel on armour.  If you were on synthroid and were having a problem converting the T4 to T3 (which is what happens on synthetic stuff) then they might add cytomel as a supplement.

Thanks, I didn't know whether or not you could take those together or not.
