levels ? what to do

Is 0.05mg x 2 aday a very small dose.  My last labs were Thyroxine/T4 14.2 range 4.8-13.9, T3 uptake 42 range 30-39%,Free thyroxine Index T7 6.0 range 1.4-4.5, TSH 7.66 rannge 0.34-4.82.  These were done in ER due to elevated heart rate.  I was on 0.05mgx2 aday for 7 days with hyper symptoms Doc upped it to 0.05mgx3 a day for 2 days and symptoms got worse.  Went to ER, Told me to stop Ritalin for ADD cold turkey and go back to 0.05mg x2 a day did that and know heart rate is better, but know feel tired, emotional and blah, stomach upset after eating and dryheeve quite often.  My Endo wants me to see a psychologist for anxiety but I have never had a problem with anxiety until my heart started racing.  I took Ritalin for a year with no problems until I had TT for Thyroid Cancer a month ago and started levothyroxine.  Not sure what to do know, but still feel like I cant work, and suggestions on labs?

What drug are you taking at 0.05 mg X 2?

Your TSH is high (the new range is 0.3-3.0, even though a lot of labs still use old ranges).  If the thyroxine/T4 is total, is really doesn't mean much, though it's high; Some of that T4 will be bound by proteins and not available for use; you need to have Free T4 run - that will tell how much is available to be converted to the usable T3 hormone.

T3 uptake is pretty much obsolete,  There is a calculation that can be done using the T4 result and the T3 uptake, which will determine the amount of Free T4 -- again, it's much easier and less expensive to just do the FT4 test....... you also need to have a Free T3 test done - those will tell you what the actual thyroid hormone levels are.

Maybe some of the other members can answer better.
