levoxyl and calcium

by anglejones, Nov 02, 2008 08:07AM
I recently read something that spoke about the effectiveness of levoxyl when taken with calcium.  I've been taking my levoxyl and calcium and natural iron tablets together for years, first thing each morning.  Is this causing a problem with the absorbtion of my thyroid medicine?

Perhaps someone misspoke because you would 'never' take Levoxyl and calcium at the same time.  The same goes with iron.  These two supplements, in particular, can absorb your thyroid medication before your body has a chance to - rendering the medication void.  Calcium and iron should be taken at least 4 hours after taking thyroid medication.

Good luck.
