levoxyl to armour

Hi, I am switchcing from levoxyl to armour.  When on the levoxyl I had to use .88 one day and .75 the next to come close to keeping a decent level, although my T3 is below normal.  Now in coverting to armour, should I take 1/2 grain or 3/4 grain?  Also, how long will it take for levoxyl to be gone from my body and the armour to kick in by itself.  I am sort of afraid to go through the hypo he// I've expereienced for 2 years now.  Any ideas out there?

Adderall will effect the thyroid levels. I think for the first batch prior to testing the .45 Armour is a proper value

T4 levels from Levo can stick around for 3 weeks or longer - Best to start slow if switching

Thank you for the information.  I was actually on armour over a year ago at 1 grain and my TSH went  to 1.0.  So I think I will try the 3/4 first and if it is not enough continue to the grain.  Do you know if being on adderall makes a difference in levels?

1/2 grain of Armour is only equal to 50mcg or less of levo or synthroid
1 grain is equal to 75mcg-100mcg of levo or synthroid
The conversion charts are a little off (under actually), but a good starting dosage when starting out on Armour.
I would personally start at 60mgs which is 1 grain....and you will probably need more down the road soon. :) :)
Dosaging and testing is very different than sythetics. Testing should be done every 4-5 weeks while finding optimal dosage.
You can find more information on our health pages here under Armour information. At the bottom of the page is also a prescribing information link you can go to, to read or print as well.
