Mousepie can I ask you a question, sorry for this. I'm like you in age, life style and dose of levothyroxine intake; have you noted any joint pain?
(I don't have any issue with my blood pressure though)

I dont have a question, but I also have blood pressure problems and uncontrollable. Im on 200mg Synthroid  I have been dieting, to no avail. The weight woby go down Im told I cant take any diet pills, and the weight is just plateau however, the  blood pressure is truly stroke and heart attack zone. I need real help. Dr says levels are good, but I feel if I can get down on the dosage it'll still be good and blood pressure will go down as well. I'm so tired and sick of been tired with the weight and the fact of the blood pressure. I want to live and not die before my time.

Thyroid gland problems can lead to unstable blood pressure. Hypothyroidism tends to associate with increased diastolic component especially in otherwise healthy elderly people. Hypothyroidism causes elevation in cholesterol and triglyceride counts and increases aortic stiffness. Besides the decrease in FT3 directly affects blood pressure. Yep, I am back to feeling normal...thyroid is gone, RAI done, blood pressure is better now that the thyroid is out.  I still need to loose a bit of weight and that should help my BP, but I have cut my meds in half and hope to eventually eliminate them.  Good luck!

Mousepie, I had a blood pressure spike (along with other symptoms and Hashimotos), turned out I had nodules that were cancerous...I would have an ultrasound if you haven't in a while.

I had high blood pressure for many years before being diagnosed with Hypothyroidism.  However, the periods when I have been overmedicated with Levothyroxine my blood pressure has gone out of control.  Last January my blood pressure started spiking and my heart was racing and my Endo lowered my dosage of Levo.  Then about a month ago it happened again and it has been lowered again.  Is it possible that your dosage of thyroid medication is too strong?  You might mention this to your doctor.  Others have posted similar situations on this forum so I know it hasn't just happened to me.

Good luck.
