low TSH, normal T4

by redbird78, Aug 16, 2008 07:02PM
Hello,
I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism (after a bout of thyroiditis) several years ago. I was placed on Levoxyl. But my hormones have been difficult to regulate. My TSH is almost always less than 0.3 and my T4 around 1.2 Two months ago, we weaned my Levoxyl from 100mcg to 88mcg and my TSH went from 0.38 (first time in a year it was normal) to 0.09; and T4 from 1.17 to 1.21. I assume it means I am still hyperthyroid. Do you think the gland is recovering? How fast can I continue to wean the medication? Can I go from 88 mcg to 50 mcgs to off the medication? Or do I have to go from 88 to 75 to 50 to 25mcgs?

I am trying to get pregnant, and am so afraid constantly weaning will affect my ability to ovulate. Is that true?
