I was diagnosed with Hashimotos 30 years ago and have been on Synthroid. My TSHPituitary and tsh Tsh has been in normalNormal saline flush limits. No other tests have been ordered except for the TSHPituitary and tsh Tsh since i was diagnosed 30 years ago.
Over the past 2 years i have had an increase in memoryMemory loss Mental status tests problems...testing was done and it showed a short-term memoryMemory loss Mental status tests loss ... they called it dementia....but my long term memory is good. I wonder if anyone else has anything like this and could it be related to my thyroid. Any input would be appreciated
Short term memory loss is a symptom of thyroid imbalance.
It's hard to say what your hormone levels are like if you have only been getting TSH tests all these years.
What has your TSH been running, and has it been stable?
There are other causes of memory loss, but hypothyroidism certainly is one.
