multinodular goitre

Report shows that i have a multinodular goitre ( right lobe: 1cm & 0.9cm ; left lobe: 0.9, 0.5 & 0.5 nodules, with isthmus as normal & no cervical lymphadenopathy)
Blood report shows T3, T4, TSH as normal.

Fine Needle aspiration cytology shows that

smears from thyroid aspirate show : cellular haemorrhagic aspirate, follicular cells arranged in clusters around colloid, few pseudopapillary structures as well as single follicular cells, colloid in the background, no nuclear features of malignancy.
Impression : Benign follicular lesion suggestive of hyperplastic nodule

Two surgeons recommended surgery, whereas a physician says no treatment or surgery required at the moment. I am now confused as what to do? please suggest.

The nodules are benign, one has intranodular bleeding, usually these nodules are watched for growth with repeat biopsy if they grow up. You may consider to see thyroid specialist in such case of controversial opinions.

Hi,
I was suppose to have my thyroid removed Tuesday.  But surgeon and I decided to postpone for another 6 months.  I have a multinodular thyroid, also enlarged, but all blood labs return normal, fna benign.  Thyroid functioning normal.

The reason, my thyroid was being removed was due to it's enlargement, but so far I am swallowing normal and breathing normal, occassional throat swelling (allergies), and shortness of breath.
