need thryoid meds?

by lb123, Aug 16, 2008 01:02AM
Recent high cholesterol levels when checked, 235.  HDL- 67, LDL-137.  Strong family hx of heart disease, high bp, and high cholesterol.  I am only 24 years old, and am not overweight.  They checked my TSH at the same time and it was high at 9.19.  This is the first time any of these labs have been high for me, could the cholesterol be due to the TSH?  With these numbers will I need thyroid meds or no?  I work odd shifts and am always tired, and am always having problems with my body temp.  (i'm either way too hot or way too cold)  Just worried about the risk of infertility with high tsh levels and my risk for heart disease.  Any info. would be great!
