i posted something earlier and didnt post any info about the post..
my husband had a mri w/out contrast and i post the results..impression:1cm of inhomogeneous signal at the inferior most portion of the tongue base. a large area of abnormal signal is appreciated at the infrahyoid left strap muscles medially just to the left of midline. this latter focus measures 4.3 cm in greatest dimension. lack of intravenous contrast limits this examination. consider possible thyroglossal duct lesion. a complex cyst is possible, though not completely favored given the lack of more prominent increased signal in the standard T2 sequences. solid soft tissue lesion not completely excluded here. no prominent neck lymphadenopathy, however. follow up neck mri with gadolinium is advised for better characterization. likely goiter left lobe thyroid glands and isthmus. clinically correlate. incidental note is made of bilateral maxillary sinus diease as well as multilevel cervical spondylosi....
and these are the new mri w/ contrast results:
The findings are suspicious for a pyramidal lobe off the left thyroid lobe ratherthan an independent mass separate from the thyroid glandas discussed above. Differential diagnosis, however, would consist of possible thyroglossal duct cyst remnant mass or lymphadenopathy. Follow up nuclear thyroid scan w/ uptake is advisedfor futher characterization ,as the left lobe and this persumed pyramidal segment appear abnormal
please any information anyone can give me greatly appreciated
