Hi, this is a call or a plea for anyone who's listening. I am 20 yrs old, and have been told that my Thyroid is moving considerably slower than it has been in years. My TSHPituitary and tsh Tsh is 6.99, and last year i was closer to 3. My doctor won't give me any medication until I get retested in a month, but I have a funny feeling it is due to the birth controlControl Control rx pill I am on. I never used to have any problems before, I used to be a slim 5'0 womanWomen's way, usually between 100-106. Now, my weight has skyrocketed to 123 when I'm bloated, usually around 116-117 i think when i'm not(that's the lowest). I've been off and on birth controlControl Control rx for the past 11 months, but now, i'm on Yasmin, and after a month, my hair seems to be falling out, my scalp is really dry, my whole body feels really dry, i'm suffering from horrible stomach problems, constipation accompanied with bloating and gasAdjustable gastric banding Bacterial gastroenteritis Barium enema Blood gases Blood gases test Chagas disease Culture of gastric tissue biopsy Feeding tube insertion - gastrostomy Gas - flatulence Gastrectomy Gastrectomy - series and pain that is affecting my whole world. Extreme fatigue at times, muscle aches, and just an overall feeling of depression. Is it possible that all of this has been caused by the pill? As well, I am seeing a nautropathic nutritionist who thinks that I may have candida overgrowth, which she says is usually caused by birth control. Has anyone ever had a problem like this or do I just have a seriously sensitive body that seems to be reacting to everything? HELP!
Your symptoms look like a list of hypothyroid symptoms. I can't imagine it is all from the bc. Being tested in a month is a good idea, at least you don't have to wait longer. I know that seems long anyway.
The estrogen in the bc pills will change how much of a dose you need once you begin meds. I'm assuming you will need meds.
It's great that you have a TSH from last year to compare to. It's obvious that going from a 3 to almost 7 is not normal. One's personal TSH level should not vary by more than 0.75.
Good luck.
