pain / discomfort

I have a question about discomfort in the neck and its location.  Until two days ago I have had no pain or discomfort in my neck, nor trouble swallowing.  Monday I noticed a soreness on left side of my neck.  My adam's apple is not prominent so I'm not sure how close it is to this discomfort.  It wasn't really painful but a little uncomfortable to the touch and when I moved.  It subsided.  Last night I noticed the left side of my neck up to my ear being unconfrtable, also on the inside of my mouth towards my throat.  I thought perhaps I was getting an ear infection or something.  Again, it subsided.  Now, I am noticing the slight discomfort in my neck again like Monday, no longer in my ear.  I'm not certain that it is my thyroid.  I'm just questioning this because it was the left side on my scan that had the grayed area - hot nodule, toxic adenoma, or what ever is going on.  Anything I shoudl be looking for or writing down?  I go to the Endro next Friday.

For reference, my test results at this point are:

TSH - .05
T3 Uptake - 39
T4 - 18.2
Free 4 - 7.1
Ultrasound read at thyroiditis (enflamed)
Scan showed upper left lobe effected (grayed), right has decreased function from the left

Considering this, perhaps its a good thing I've had to wait the last 6-8 weeks for this apt.  :)
