Hello,

You have the same TH as me and are on the same medication.
I am fairly sure you are okay, plenty of people take levothyroxine whilst pregnant, your dr would not of prescribed it if it was not safe.

Try not to worry, I hope the levothyroxine makes you feel better soon, took a while for me and am still not there yet.

Good luck.

A T4 med cannot harm your baby while pregnant.
Its when you dont take the meds that you can cause harm or have a premature birth.
A lot of women have thyroid problems at the beginning of their pregnancy , only to find after the first trimester going into the 2nd trimester that they may not need the T4 meds.
Keep in close contact with your Doctor who will monitor you all the way through.
And no...the T4 med will NOT interfere with yr babys IQ.
That is determined at conception and is gene related.
Hope that makes you feel more at ease. :)

I had the same question and concern for an endocrinologist on Thurs., 2/26, and she said two things on this subject. 1) There is only one study about IQ and mother's TSH during pregnancy, and the study has been largely discredited due to have small sample and the way it was executed; 2) TSH level has most effect on baby in later pregnancy (believe third trimester). In my case, she's having my TSH checked every four weeks during pregnancy. I know it's scary, but you should be able to get an ultrasound soon in which your OB can verify the pregnancy is progressing as planned. For what it's worth, I had elevated TSH in my first pregnancy and had the medication adjusted two or three times in the first 15 weeks or so. My son is now almost two and is healthy. I'm pregnant with my second child and had elevated TSH at 5 weeks. I'm on a new dosage and believe things are going OK. Hang in there!
