please help,

My life is a mess! and i strongly believe my thyroid plays a big part in it. iam tired non stop, gain weight, feel weak and dizzi sometimes and its driving me nuts. been to my gp to ask for new tests as i had been diagnosed with hypothyroid about 7years ago. my last test before this one 3weeks ago was in 2003.  she said nothing wrong there! ???????? can this just vanish? the bloodtest showed a result of 6points, whatever that means? is that a normal result for thyroid function. could it be something else? i am a little lost, so if someone got and idear, please let me know.i want my life back

thanks for ur reply, i used to have the tsh reflex tests done while i was still living in germany, there is where they diagnosed me with the hypothyroid. iam living since 2004 in the UK and kept taking and ordering my tablets from germany. there was a point where i felt that the thyroxin didnt do nothing for my wellbeing anymore. i thought i need a stronger dosis so went to my gp here. she just did do a normal bloodtest. checking as she said on my thyroid, cholesterol, liver. giving me this description of 6points(???). saying everything is alright. iam going again tomorrow, to her annoyance. i hopefully will be able to get exact testresults. is it ok to get back to u?

thanks for now.

I don't undertadn the 6 point thig?

You should have a thyroid test that has 1 to 3 things listed.

TSH  #   normal numbers most doctors use are anywhere between .03 to 5.5 even though the real range now only goes from .3-3.0

a Free T3/T3
a Free T4/T4

There is a TSH reflex test some use often and that is a summary of all the T's and give you an average for a TSH reading. That agine falls in reference with the TSH listed above.

You need to post numbers. Everything would be a wild guess and I do not want to assume anything. CAn you get those levels? You are having very vague symptoms too. and do not seem to prove anything - they could be thyroid related but much more info needs to be posted.
