possible nodule?

I'm having an ultrasound on Saturday, for possible thyroid nodule.  I have a small lump on my throat that makes me look like I have an adam's apple -- I am female..  It also acts like an adam's apple, moves up and down when I swallow...  does this sound like a thyroid issue?  Anyone, anything?  I am a wreck!!

I have all the classic symptoms of hypothyroidism and a TSH of 2.9 (which has risen as my symptoms have worsened) which my endo feels is slightly too high. Today I found out I have four nodules on my thyroid but it is not enlarged. I am just 35 years old and have a strong family history of thyroid disease. I also have some early hallmarks of parathyroid problems (low normal calcium, high normal phosphorus, low normal magnesium). All the antibdody tests come back negative.
I am really confused. This can't be Hasimoto's correct?

Sounds like nodule.  But don't worry for nothing yet.

About 50% of mature aged women have at least one small nodule and among  healthy thyroid people.
Only certain kinds of nodules are cancerous, then about 20% of these nodules develop into cancer. Although most nodules are harmless and do not require any treatment at all unless the nodule is a hot nodules that is causing hyperthyroidism, a fine needle aspiration biopsy of the dominant (large) nodule(s) is appropriate. Nodules do not cause symptoms like weight gain and fatigue -- this may be thyroid related and to determine this, the TSH and Free T4 need to be tested, possibly along with thyroid antibodies.
