SEEMS TO ME THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON A LONG TIME . I THINK THEY SHOULD HAVE LEFT YOU IN THE HOSPITAL FOR OBSERVATION. SOUNDS BRUTAL WHAT THEY ARE DOING TO YOU . I WILL SAY A PRAYER FOR YOU.
Sorry to hear you've been going thru so much. Keep us posted on how you're doing.Hope you feel better soon.!!
I'm so sorry to hear that you're STILL not feeling better!! Hopefully the antibiotic starts working soon, and the pain meds keep the pain at bay. I'll be thinking of you, and praying that you start feeling better real soon!!

oh froggie...I am soo sorrry to hear all this...good grief! how are you feeling this evening? I do hope a bit better! I agree...I would definately try to see another doc if possible...there should be something that can be done for infection!
I can't believe that they said there was an infection and they still didn't bother to do any cultures! They can't tell how bad an infection is just by looking at a CT scan. I agree with what others have said, i..e. that you need to talk to someone else if you don't get satisfaction from your surgeon or ER physicians. I would recommend that you demand that they refer you to an infectious disease specialist.
Another possibility is to talk to an infection control practitioner (ICP) at the facility that did your surgery. For liability reasons, most surgeons tend to try to hide or minimize post-surgical infections and the ICP is responsible for monitoring infection rates in health care facilities. The ICP may be able to get the ball rolling (of course, ICPs are not usually very popular with physicians because a visit from the ICP is usually not good news for the Dr). The problem is that I don't know how easy it is for patients to get access to ICPs and I don't know anyone who has actually gone through the ICP to get action from the doc, so take this advice with a grain of salt..
I will be praying for you tonight. I know how scary throat swelling can be. And please don't be afraid to call 911 if it gets worse & hubby is at work. It's better to be safe than sorry.

Keep you in my prayers..get some rest...drink the fluids....get a new doc for sure.
Wish I could wave a majic wand and make it all go """"""""""""""""'away"""""""""""""""" for you and really fast.
I am glad you have an answer...................................................but sorry it hurts so much still.
Mine was an infection from a cyst above the incision that nobody ever knew I had that burst and the contents caused the incision infection and then scar tissue grew from the infected cyst so you be certain this dingo surgeon keeps on top of scar tissue and can minimize it in whatever way is possible as you heal .... it doesn't have to be on the surface either ... in other words keep on top of him and ASAP when you says you can do massage to the incisional area maybe that will help break things up. But, this is in the near future and not now at all .. but came to mind and wanted to remind you of this.
Even if you seek another opinion outside of this guy may not be a bad idea if it doesn't calm down soon ........ even a dermatologist handles wound incisions all the time ..... mine had direct answers for my stuff when my surgeon was somewhat on the fence and clueless.
C~ (frog ribbits your way to heal)
I went ahead and went to the ER about Midnight last night. Did more blood work and of course white count was all screwy. Did a CT of my neck and told me there was infection but nothing they could drain off, saw swelling inside but nothing that would kill me ( dont ya LOVE er docs???????) , which explained my hoarseness, told me since I have so many allergies that I had no choice but to stay on antibiotic already taking, sent me hope with different pain pills, and basically told me to hope for the best and deal with it.
I am to call the surgeon this morning and I will only because I need another 5 days of the anitbiotic. I refuse to see her anymore.
I really feel like my body has betrayed me. I have only slept a couple of hours and sweated like crazy the whole time. Hubby just stopped by to check on me, said swelling looks worse but I felt a little cooler to him.
I am doing nothing today but lay around, push fluids and pop pain pills. My neck looks like he##, both arms are black and blue from needles, and I have bags the size of boston under my eyes. Life in my world really sucks today.
Thanks for being there for me everyone. (((((hugs))))))
HOW ARE YOU? I will ck. back later ... really concerned here for you .... sounds like vocal cords swollen and that is why inhaler not working and not good considering how far along you are post-op.
These surgeon's are something else, aren't they?
I promise to check back mid-morning .. I'm concerned for you and feel your pain everytime I open a post.
Hugs,
Cheryl
Please let us know how you are ...
Good thoughts and prayers are to you sweetie! If he hasn't called you back I would go to the ER and see if someone there will treat me.
Take care and let us know how it goes.
