You should talk to your doctor about maybe putting you on an anti-depressant. Your depression and mood swings could be from the thyroid problem. My mood swings are all over the place. It does not matter if you are hypo/hyper your mood is affected.
Alot of people with thyroid problems are on an anti-drepressant, it does not mean you are a weak person. Your thyroid affects so much, including your emotions on any given day.
I think the first thing you should do is to insist on a Free T3 and Free T4 test with the TSH. If your Free T3 level is low you could continue to have hypo symptoms with depression as well. Just because they are in the normal range doesn't make them optimal. For example: Some people feel their best when their T3 level is high normal and their T4 level is mid range normal. I know a couple of doctors who will test the Free T3 at first mention of depression. Just a thought and suggestion.

Talk to your doctor about it.
