I don't know either.  I told my husband last night that I had more pressing on my throat yesterday - exactly how it was when I still had my thyroid.  My airway didn't feel as open and I could feel a constant pressure.  The big concern for me was that it wasn't @ my incision site - it was higher up, right under that first told in my neck and I could feel a band there.  I don't know if that is just part of my trachea or what; however, it is better today and I'm having less trouble swallowing.  I guess I'll just wait until my appointment next week until it gets worse again.  I'm glad your voice is coming back; I really didn't have much problem until today but that's because I have a cold :-).  Hoping you feel & sound better soon.  Please let us know how work goes today or is it tomorrow; I am starting to get brain foggy, lol.

entirely possible. I know my throat wasn't bad then it was...now it is getting better again. same with the voice...I could talk the first day. then...no voice...nothing but a whisper. I can finally talk again, but not too loudly.

I was thinking earlier today about one of the earlier posts about throats feeling swollen/difficulty swallowing right after surgery, getting better then coming back again.  I haven't had much difficulty swallowing after the first 2-3 days (I found that shrugging my shoulders while swallowing helped the horse pills go down) but today I have felt more pressure on my incision site and more difficulty swallowing.  I think it might be because of the healing process.  Initially there is swelling & inflammation due to the surgery.  It starts going down after a few days and then shortly after the body begins making scar tissue to close the incision up.  Maybe that's what we're feeling - the beginnings of scar tissue.  Hopefully once the body is done making the scar tissue and all of the swelling is gone our swallowing will be back to normal.  Just a thought - what do you think?

feeling ok. tired and getting into the hypo thing I think. achy muscles, really cold all the time, down in the dumps for no reason at all...sheesh...foggy is the only way I can describe it...I feel foggy. I just want to sleep. Last night my leg muscles were twitching so I got up and took more calcium and some potassium. will have that checked next week. I am going to try to go to the office for awhile on Wednesday I think.

Pretty well but realizing that I'm not as good as I thought I was.  I started taking care of my kids yesterday and worked today on thinning out my kids' toys in the living room.  Not a whole lot but my body is telling me it's too much.  My back is hurting and I'm really tired (no nap today).  I read the discussion farther down about going back to work.  I work from home so I could go back to work tomorrow if I *had* to but I'm glad I took 2 weeks off.  It'll allow me to go at a slower pace & ease back into life.  Plus, it gives me time to do some of the little chores around the house that I never seem to have time to do - I do 10 or 20 minutes and then watch TV for an hour or 2; do another 10 or 20 minutes and then take a nap - that sort of a thing.  How are you doing?  Is your energy getting any better?  What about your calcium - do you get that checked this week or next?  I hope you feel better soon.  *Hug*
