You can try 400MG magnesium Glucinate for muscle aches, I know many people think the medication causes the symptoms, and stop, then they get worse. I did that myself once too. Some have reactions to the buffers they use in pills. See message in your email. Good Luck FTB4
I was on the same as I am now. The 125 mcg. It was my fault, I didn't want to go back to my old doctor who was about an hour away from where I live. (Houston) And my medication expired refills at the end of January and I got lazy on finding a doctor closer to me, not thinking that being off the synthroid would effect me the way it has...all my body wants to do in sit and stare off into space lol Thankfully I have 3 small kids and a husband that count on me to do things for them or that's probably what I would be doing all day. Even right now typing my hands and arms ache. Its sad, and I am so tired of feeling this way! I now know that I can NEVER stop my medication.
Well as far as I know Total T3 and T4 tests are obsolete. That would be another reason to dump this md or clinic. Did your MD also stop the thyroid medication two months ago?
I assume you were Hypo, have you been diagnosed with Hashimoto's or just Hypo? I have Hashi's and I can imagine how bad you must feel being off of meds that long, I have been on meds for three years and just started on Armour 4 weeks ago, and I am feeling better now than I ever have. What dosage were you on prior to stopping taking the meds?
synthroid. On the lab paper is shows T4, Free 0.2 Reference Range at .8-1.8 ng/dL and then it says T3, Total <25 Reference Range 76-181 ng/dL then it says it was verified by repeating analysis.
That would be my first step, If your Doc, did not understand T3 and T4 she knows much less than some of the members here, and that is a shame, so you were not able to get the reference ranges from her? That level of 25 for Free T3 does not look right either, unless it is 2.5? Yes I think you need to find another MD or Endocrinologist that is experienced with thyroid asap. Maybe you could post your location and ask members for an MD in your area. What do they have you on now Levo or Synthroid? Good Luck FTB4
yes, i am hypothyroid. I was hyper then swallowed the radioactive pill and within 3 months I was hypo. I was taking 125 mcg and that is what I've been put back on for the last 5 days. All it shows for my T4 is 0.2 and T3 at 25. The doctor at the clinic said nothing about the T4 and T3, but she really didn't know much about thyroid issues but knew my TSH was very high and needed to start back on my meds right away. I need to find a good doctor in my area that knows about the thyroid.
Do you have your recent Free T3 and Free T4 levels if they were taken with the TSH? If you have them, post them with the reference ranges for each. If they just gave you TSH over the phone, call them back and ask if the free's were done, ask for them with the ranges. It is hard to comment without these levels, they are more important than TSH, even though yours is high and indicates Hypothyroid. What medication were you on?
