Been sweating like crazy lately, don't know why?
Things change, my symptom change.
I have Hashimoto's too and experience some of the same symptoms. However, I am concerned that you have been off meds for 2 years. How long did you take thyroid medication in the first place? Perhaps you did not allow it time to take effect (most say 6 weeks)? The extreme fatigue you are experiencing now tells me that you haven't gotten rid of the Hashimoto's and you won't. What kind of thyroid meds were you on? Maybe you didn't find the right kind. I take levoxyl 75 mcg. and I am doing okay on it, others take Armour, Synthroid, etc. Perhaps other members can speak to shopping around for the right meds. I have been okay with my meds so far. I did not get treated for Hashimoto's until I found a goiter which is now continuing to grow. I will need to get surgery pretty soon. Please check with your doctor again so surgery won't need to be an option with you. Take care.
Sounds like your Hashimoto's is in attack mode. I had all and then some more symptoms the same as yours for over 15 years till I was diagnosed!
Have you had the antibodies test done recently? This will give a true indicator if the Hashi's has flared up.
The only really good thing to do with Hashimoto's when severe is thyroid removal. It is the thyroid that it is attakcing and it makes the thyroid go into a tail spin trying to adjust its own hormones, but always failing. I believe you may be at end stage of the thyroid giving up. Which is what Hashi does. It kills the thyroid!
I believe if you have the thyroid out you will find you will tolerate the medication better. The thing is you have to be patient on them and give them time to work. 6 weeks each dosage change is a long time but the only way to let it get into the body to work!
Hasmimoto's often interferes with the medication in the first place. So by having the thyroid removed may be the solution to your problem, with medication of course, as you won't be able to avoid that!
I suggest you find a new endo and the sooner the better!
Cheers!
thanks for your response. my thyroid test came back at the minimum 0.8 (t4)and 264 t3. which never happened before. I started to take L-thyrosine and the doc added Iodoral which equalls thyroid meds a 3 to 1 ratio, that's what the doc said. anyhow, I take niacin for the cholestrol but the doc said to take 6 cause it's no flush. the doc said my adrenal is also a problem. When I was on meds in the beginingI was doing okay. it took me 3-4 months to fully adjust but than it went down hill. e how, the doc is checking my hormone level and will take it from there.
