road blocks everywhere!

Like the rest of everyone trying to get health issues resolved. my thyroid levels are too within normal range.  I have been to 2 general practicioners and 2 Endocrinologists and I have a 3.5 cm thyroid nodule.  I have all the typical thyroid symptoms.  and they fluctuate!  sometimes I feel very normal and others I am in the tank... like all my reserves are depleted.  The last endo doc I went to today said he was 100% positive that it was not my thyroid and kept comparing me to his wife!  He wanted to hear nothing about the link between Hashimoto's and thyroid nodules.  He came in saying there was nothing to do for me!  Or that it is a known fact that thyroid tests are flawed... nor did he think that we should run antibody tests....  I am in central PA... if anyone can refer someone to me... that would be great.  I am tired of feeling like I am going nuts, not being able to play with my kid outside, being cold and just not feeling like myself!.  I even mentioned reading something about thyroid meds to hault nodule growth and he said that hasn't been done since the 20-40's and anyone that would do it is commiting malpractice.  Well then I guess the Mayo Clinic is committing malpractice since 2011!

What lab tests have been done?  Can you post the results here for us, so we can better assess the testing you had, since many doctors don't test adequately?  Be sure to include reference ranges with any results, as ranges vary lab to lab and have to come from your own report.

One of our members keeps a list of doctors recommended by forum members.  Are any of these communities close enough for you to consider:

Conshohocken, Erie, Elliotsburg, near Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Tunkhannock. Westchester?

So sorry this is happening to you!  I do understand.  Have you searched Mary Shomon's doctor list for someone in PA?  Also, inquire with the local pharmacist for a doctor that is prescribing dessicated thyroid meds.  It seems holistic practitioners are usually the ones prescribing it, and they tend to have a better understanding of thyroid issues and hormones than some GPs (and even some Endos).  I am having some issues now with my numbers, and it can be VERY frustrating.  It's hard to find someone who listens and will take you seriously.  Keep training and don't give up!  There are good practitioners out there, I promise.  Good luck to you!
