safe tsh levels after cancer+

i had thyroid cancer in august 2002.  i go to the doctor faithfully for my annual check-ups.  i was just told that my tsh is 1.3.  is this something that i should be concerned about?  my doctor told me he was going to check it again in two months.  i have had no thyroid tissue show up in almost 7 years.  he said i may need more radioactive treatment.  what are the chances of thyroid cancer coming back and what are the most common areas that it may return.

After cancer treatment, low risk patients should have a TSH in the neighborhood of .5 with higher risk patients needing an even lower TSH.  Yours is a bit on the high side, so a small dose adjustment might be the way to go.

Take care,
