salivary glands

by Terri627, Oct 06, 2009 01:13AM
Okay, this is a strange thought for me. I've been reading other posts. I just read about someone whose salivary glands were burned from the RAI. So, no saliva. I have the opposite problem. Too much. Embarrassing, but true. Especially at night. Could this be related at all? Just one more thing to chalk up to the ultimate gland, the thyroid?

My saliva glands are burnt from RAI. I have excessive saliva b/c of the duct blockage from scar tissue.

They are enlarged ( one on the right side) and I need to keep them small or the pain is huge.

Hate to keep preaching iodine - but that was what stopped the gland from prodicing excessively.

My salvia gland is like a packed up zit in my neck - I can push on it and saliva will release when it is large. If I do not take iodine daily - in 2 days the gland is huge and hurts. Taking it keeps it from getting to the size of a coffee cup mouth to a little smaller than a dime.
