"suspicious for follicular neoplasm".........not the answer I wanted

So, I just got my biopsy results back after having an fna for a 4 cm thyroid nodule. The doctor said it was suspicious for follicular neoplasm, which she said basically means they still don't know if it is benign or not. I will be seeing an ENT surgeon sometime soon to schedule having half of my thyroid removed to find out for sure what this thing is. Anyone else been through this? Thoughts?

So, I am commenting on myself because I cannot figure out how to edit. I just wanted to add, that I am scared. I have been reading that if it were follicular cancer the fact that it is so big would be BAD, and that this cancer can spread to the lungs, liver and bone. So, all of the reassuring "thyroid cancer is so curable" could go out the window? Is this right?
