You really should make a fuss, and get her to a pediatric endo for test ASAP.My daughter is 9 and born without a thyroid gland.Moddled skin and sweating/temperature issues are definetely symptoms. It is VERY important that children be treated with thyroid hormone if there is an issue, as BRAIN and body development are dependent on proper thyroid levels in young children! It is always better to be safe then sorry! She is dependent on the adults in her life to make sure all is well or unwell, and then to get her appropriate treatment if needed. As care givers, we must trust our instincts and not second guess ourselves.Time really is of the essence when you are dealing with children who are growing and changing daily. Does your grandaughter have any other symptoms? (ex: constipation, emotional (cries easily),fatigue, low morning basal body temp. dry skin) are just a few.)

My legs get that way, too. I sometimes get sweats, then I get chills. That is a thing with people, like me, who have Hashimoto's Thyroid Disease. Early on in the disease, we go from hot to cold. Tired, cold and constipated to wired, flushed and diarrhea.

I'm not saying your granddaughter has Hashi, but maybe you should ask your daughter to get her blood tested. See the labs I mentioned above.

But a little one sweating could be many things. An experienced pediatrician can give her a full blood-workup. I would recommend it. It's not natural for a little one to sweat so much.

Poor little one.

Is that her only symptom?

The standard thyroid tests are:TSH, FT4, FT3 and the anti-body tests are TGab and Anti-TPO. Anyone else in the family with thyroid disease?
