synthroid and missed period

I am trying to get pregnant and right now my period is a week late (which never happens). I have already taken 2 pregnancy tests which came out to be negative. My doctor said my thyroid is slightly too low, but it isn't anything to worry about.He did however put me on synthroid (.25mg) to raise it back to normal. I recently stopped taking the medication about 2-3 weeks ago. Would this cause my period to become irregular to the point I'm a week late or could there possibly be another reason?

I know if ur hyper thyroid it would also throw ur cycles off. and if u have under stress too... so they are many reason why it can happen
