I have changed my synthroid so many times since the birth of my 3 year old. I am now on .137 and it says it is in the normalNormal saline flush range, but I am tired, confused, and really struggling with weight gain and lack of energy. I run 3 miles about 5 days a week if I can make myself, but even then, I feel so tired. My doctor had me on .150 and my level was close to .05 when checked, but I felt worse than ever..I went to a regularRegular insulin physician and he decreased synthroid to .137 about a year ago. I don't know what to do...My levels are normalNormal saline flush..around 2.5-3.0 when checked, but I still don't feel "right"..what suppliments are safeSafe driving for teens Safe sex to help me feel back to normal again?? I have lost so much hair and I just want enough energy to enjoy life again!!! thanks
Is your doctor checking your free T3 and free T4 levels as well as TSH? FT3 correlates to symptoms best of the three tests, followed by T4, with TSH a distant lagger. If your meds dosage has been being adjusted by TSH alone, that is probably why you have never felt really well.
You should request FT3, FT4 and TSH all done on the same blood draw.
Some people do better when a little T3 medication is added to the mix. Some do better on Armour thyroid. However, you won't know in which direction to go without FT3 and FT4. When you get those results, also get the reference range from your own lab. Reference ranges vary from one lab to another and different labs use different units. So, it's important to get those along with your results. If you want, you can post those here and members will comment on what they think will help you get well.
