It's not unusual to have good and bad days. The trick is to get your levels to the point where you have MORE good than bad days.... That's adjusting FT3 and FT4 accordingly.

hmmm, I was also being overmedicated at the time I couldn't sleep (which I later found out) and so my dose was lowered around the same time I switched the time I was taking, so it could very well be that the reason I was able to start sleeping was the lowered dose and not the time of day/night. I will be going back to get my levels rechecked in a few weeks, so I don't know how they are at the moment. I am feeling better though. A few weeks after they lowered me I felt bad again, and the last few days I have been feeling much better, except for today.
Is there a reason why some days I feel great and others not so much?

Synthroid is a T4 only med and takes several weeks to build in the body before it reaches full potential, so what you take tonight, will not affect you for at least a couple of weeks...

I've read of people who chew their med; never tried it, but maybe if you did, some would be absorbed into the capillaries under the tongue or in the cheeks.... don't know this for fact; it's just a thought. It still won't do a lot for a couple of weeks, though.

I'd like to see current labs to see where your levels are... if they aren't high enough, you could have trouble sleeping....... it's all a balance act...

wow, chew it up? what does this do, i am curious?
i also take mine at night. i was taking it in the morning and by night when I would try to go to sleep I was so wired! I would stay up half the night and be even more tired in the morning. So I started taking at night so by morning I have a little more energy and am now ble to sleep at night.

Is it better to chew up the synthroid and take full glass of water. I take mine before bed.

Oh, forgot to mention that my weight gain was the thyroid issue itself, not the med and now that I am getting my levels in line, I can actually lose a bit........

It says on the information that comes with my med to take it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach and don't eat or drink anything for at least 30 to 60 minutes.  I've never tried taking it at night.  I don't know how that would work, since you are supposed to take it on an empty stomach - would you have to skip dinner, then?

Maybe some other members would have an idea.
