HELP I have several small cervical lymph nodes (all under 1cm) and two thyroid nodules-- and a thyrogloblin test of almost 800--what does this all mean?

Good luck with the scan, and let us know how it goes.

The uptake test will show a lot more about the characteristics of the nodules.

When are they doing that?

They have only run the standard tests -- not the "free" T3 and T4 as I have been reading in the posts here-- I have several people on both sides with Thyroid cancer, (2 cousins, 2 maternal aunts, 2 paternal aunts) so I am slated to have an uptake test-- but I have been having run down symptoms, and the lymph nodes that seem to "appear" out of nowhere.-- I now have 9 nodes that are "palpable". But the standard thyroid tests-- I was told that they are in the normal range-- but I do not have those numbers--- and they picked up the nodules on the thyroid on a CAT scan looking at the enlarged cervical nodes

Thanks.  It helps a lot.

Thyroglobulin antibodies (TGab) are a marker for autoimmune thyroid disease, either Hashimoto's thyroiditis (hypo, except in it's early stages) and Graves' (hyper).  Don't panic about the extreme levels.  We often see TGab in the hundreds, or even thousands.  Just to give you some perspective, my TGab on diagnosis of Hashi's was greater-than 3,000.

Thyroid nodules are also very common with Hashi's.

Has your FT3, FT4 and TSH been tested yet?  How do you feel?  Do you have either hypo or hyper symptoms?

Were your nodules picked up on ultrasound?

It was an antibody test and the doctor told me "normal range" was less than 55 if that helps

Is that a thyroglobulin test or a thyroglobulin antibody test?  Please provide the range from you lab report (varies lab to lab).
