Hi! If you have copies of your thyroid labs, would you please post them here. Sometimes "normal" seems to be open to interpretation. Have you been tested for thyroid antibodies (TPO and TgAb)? If not, then it might be a good idea.
An endocrinologist probably can't/won't do much unless your #s are out of range. Maybe see if there's an ENT in your area that can see you. Most are familiar with thyroid issues, particularly nodules and cysts. Did the ultrasound show any compression? If so, then that might be why your're having trouble swallowing and why your dr's referring you to a surgeon. If not, then it could very well be acid reflux, which is common among folks with thyroid issues, and an ENT could figure this out with a simple and painless procedure.
