Hi sikku, my wife also having same problems could u help me +91-9158988845
I'm sorry, I don't stay on the forum all the time, so can't always respond as soon as you post.
Are those T3 and T4, for the Free T3 and Free T4, or are they total T3 and total T4? It makes a difference. Testing for total T3 and total T4 is considered obsolete and of little value, because those tests give you the total amounts, but don't tell you how much of that is actually "free" to be used by the body and how much is bound by protein and unusable.
Please clarify if those are "free" or "total" values. Both are pretty high in their ranges, which would only be a concern if they are "free". If your lab report doesn't specify "free", then they will be total and I'll have to say that you need to go back and get the frees.
I'm not concerned with the TSH because that neither causes, nor correlates with symptoms. I'm only concerned with FT3, FT and symptoms.
Dear Barb,
Could you please suggest. I had posted the values in above mail.
dear Bard,
Thanks for your reply.
here are the values for thyroid test
Result Lab values
t3 = 2.28 normal range 1.00 - 2.60
t4 = 12.17 normal range 6.6 - 15.5
tsh = 1.66 normal range 0.8 - 5.2
iam concerned about the increased dose of thyronorm tablet is it ok the high dose will not cause any harm to my baby. one more thing my last result tsh value showed 5.08 and after having increase the dose 100 mcg thyronorm daily the value came down drastically from 5.08 to 1.66 with in a month, so im little bit concerned if i continue the same dose the value will further decrease and it will go to hyper thyroid.
More important than the TSH level, is the actual level of your Free T3 and Free T4. If you haven't had those tested, you need to do so, as they are the actual thyroid hormones.
Just because your TSH is now in the "normal" range, doesn't mean you need to lower your dosage. If you did that, most likely, it would raise back up again. The idea is to keep levels as constant as possible.
You should try to get your Free T3 and Free T4 levels tested, then post them here so members can better assess your situation. Be sure to include reference ranges, since these vary lab to lab, so must come from your own report.
To answer your specific question: no, TSH of 1.66 will not harm you or your baby.
What, if any, symptoms do you have?
can any one answer my question
