Unfortunately, all three of those tests are considered obsolete and of very limited usefulness.
Total T4 tells the total amount of T4 in your blood, but much of that is chemically bound and unavailable to your cells. FREE T4 tells the amount that is available. Your TT4 is only 31% of range, which is low of the 50% target. This indicates that you are under-medicated. Next time, ask for FT4.
T3U, despite its name is actually an indirect measure of T4. FTI is a number calculated on the other two tests.
So, your TT4 doesn't explain hyper symptoms, and we have no measure of T3. Once again, it's FREE T3, not total T3, that should be ordered.
You're taking a pretty hefty dose of T4. I think you have to find out what your FT3 is doing before we can give you an idea how to proceed. It would be best to retest all three...FT3, FT4 and TSH...on the same blood draw.
t3 uptake= 31 ( range is 22-35)
t4 total is 6.8- range 4.5-12
free t4 index= 2.1, range 1.4-3.8
thank you for your consideration.
Your TSH would indicate that your meds are not properly adjusted.
However, there's not a lot we can tell you without seeing your FT3 and FT4 results with reference ranges.
You can order labs online without a doctor's order, but you will still have to see a doctor for a script.
