we went to see surgeon, he did a biopsy of the nodule, results came back negative, but my husbands SX have gotten worse, he has severe pain around the nodules, increase swelling, the RT side of his neck is "hot" to the touch, he is more fatigue and gainging alot of weight, and he still has constant HA's, should the biopsy be trusted ?
My 2 cents.
Don't be afraid. I too would just get the mass out ~ DEFINITELY. My surgery was so easy. I've actually has strep throat that felt worse than that.
If its not cancer however, I would not remove all of the thyroid. If it is, please dont worry TOO much. We are all survivors here. Just ask us, we'll tell you our positive stories.
Plus, in my case, the ONLY thing the surgeon knew is what my primary doctor told him. I have learned in my lifetime that they (trusted doctors anyway) tell you what you need to know. I don't bother anymore to ask the what ifs. They make me worry and there is no guarantee that they are accurate. My new philosphy is that "I'll cross that bridge when I get there". From an ultrasound alone point of view anyway, all they can tell is that it needs to come it out. Do you have a strong "feels right factor" with your doctor?
Right now, just be strong and positive. He will do great from this surgery. Know it in your heart and dont be afraid.
P.S. ~ Do schedule to see an endo at least after though. It took me 3 months for an appoinment and I got in early.
My Dr. said to see a surgeon AND an Endo bcz the Endo is a Neutral 3rd Party Opinion as they don't "slice and dice" as I put it in my words. I had 2 surgeon opinions, and Endo and my Primary Dr .. all but one said to remove and the one said the "watch and wait" and he was the surgeon and I didn't like him anyway .. good thing I didn't watch and wait as they found 2 small areas of pap ca in another part ofthe gland.

I'm sorry, I did not read your first post until now. I agree with Utahmomma. Waste no time.
Any other time I'd agree with getting into see an endo but that can take months and it sounds (from your other posts) like your husband's life may be at risk if his thyroid isn't removed soon.
You had the instacare doctor tell you this and your PCP after another ultrasound. I wouldn't waste precious time - especially since it's compressing his carotid.
There is no harm in getting a second opinion from an endo. If your doctor objects to this, see the endo, anyway and possibly get another MD.
