I have my thyroid scan and uptake results:
Patient ingested 289 uCi or I-123 orally. The 6- and 24-hour uptakes of 4% and 5%, repectively, are low (thenormal 24-hour uptake is 10-30%). Lowiodine uptakes are nonspecific. The patient gives a history of a thyroidectomy for thyroid cancer, accounting for this.
IMPRESSION: 1. Low radioactiveRadioactive iodine uptake ioding uptakes.
2. Residual thyroid tissue is demonstrated, primarily on the right, in this patient with a history of a thyroidectomy.
Does this mean that the I-131 cannot be done because of uptake is low???
I so just want to get this over with!!!!
Thanks to all
To answer my own question. I just talked to radiology and if I had a TT it is supposed to be low uptake.
So YEAH!! I am scheduled for I-131 on 1-14, Wed.
AND THEN I CAN HAVE A PIZZA!!!!!!!!!!
I then have to return after 1 week for the whole body scan to see where the iodine went....metastases.
Send me prayers and lots of luck.
Thanks so much
