Sorry to be so long getting back...I was away last week and just catching up now.
Yes, you definitely have Hashi's since your TGab and TPOab are both elevated. Your FT4 looks good, as I said. It's right at midrange. Your TSH could probably be a little lower, but it's certainly acceptable.
You really need to have FT3 tested. T3 is the active form of the thyroid hormones, and the only form that your cells can use. Once your FT4 and TSH look good (like yours do) and if you are still having hypo symptoms, then it's absolutely necessary to take a look at FT3. FT3 should be tested regularly and right from the beginning just like FT4 and TSH. However, once FT4 and TSH are in line, it's even more important. Many of us don't feel well until a little T3 (Cytomel) is added to our meds. FT3 should be tested first, however, before starting T3 meds.
If your FT3 and FT4 are not adjusted correctly, it can make the symptoms of other conditions much worse. Have you asked your doctor to test FT3?
I have been on levothyroxine for approximately 16 years. I believe the doctor said I had Hashimoto's. A few months ago, I was diagnosed Mitochondrial disease, I have also been diagnosed with type II Diabetes (2 yrs ago), Antiphosphilipid anti-body syndrome (approx. 16 yrs ago), RA & OA, Thalasemia & degenerative disc disease. I've been on Warfarin for the past 16 yrs also. I am so sick and tired of being sick and tired.
Yes, the "Reference 0.8-1.8" is the reference range I was talking about. So, your FT4 looks really good still...it's right in the middle of the range. TSH is still looking good, too. The other important test is FT3. T3 is the "active" form of the thyroid hormones (T4 is a "storage" form). So, it's very important to know what FT3 is doing.
I'm don't know much about the rest of your results that are either high or low (from CMP). If your doctor doesn't volunteer the information, you should specifically question him about the results that are out of range and what he thinks is resposible for them being off.
Do you have any symptoms of thyroid disease? Your FT4 and TSH still look good, so I'm guessing you probably don't. However, your antibodies are high, so they will continue to attack your thyroid, and you will eventually need to be on thyroid meds. What is your doctor saying you should do at this point?
I don't see any thing in parentheses. it just has Units, NG/DL, Reference 0.8 - 1.8 & Range P I also have a lot of other items on my report that are either H or L. My RBC is 5.52 H, MCV 70.7 L, MCH 22.4 L, MCHC 31.7 L, RDW 17.3 H, Whenever I have these tests, the doctor doesn't say anything about these results. I am really concerned about my health, and these results. A few months ago, I was diagnosed as mito-chondrial disease.
TPOab and TGab are the two antibodies responsible for autoimmune thyroid disease, Hashi's (hypo) and Graves' (hyper). Your antibodies are high, indicating autoimmune. What's the reference range on your free T4 (FT4)? The range is usually in parentheses next to the result and has to come from your own lab report because ranges vary from lab to lab.
Do you have symptoms?
